Sustainable bottle packaging has been used by humans for thousands of years to store and transport liquids. The earliest known bottles were made of clay and date back to ancient civilizations in Egypt, Greece, and Rome. These bottles were used to store a variety of liquids, including oil, wine, and water. Glass bottles were first made by the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians, who used them to store perfumes and other luxury goods. The process of making glass bottles was later refined by the Romans, who used them to store wine.
Glass bottles come in the form of recognizable common bottles to some of the most beautiful and unique custom shapes. Historically, the first glass bottles were produced in Mesopotamia around 1 AD. The first glass-melting furnace in the Unites States was made in 1608 by the settlers in Jamestown, Virginia.
