Automation

Propel your business foreward

The future of how products are packaged

There are an incredible amount of benefits to investing in automating your operations including increased productivity (when human productivity is at an all-time low), more consistent packaging results, reduced damage to your product, reduced labor costs, and reduced employee motion-related injuries. Every industry has different needs, so every integrated system is unique to what your needs are.

The pandemic has taught us how important it is to automate as many processes as possible.

Many employers are struggling with burnout, high turnover, or persistent illness. Finding available labor has become increasingly difficult over the last few years, hitting a record number of available positions left unfilled.

You can automate one section of your operations or transition into a fully integrated automated packaging line. Automation is expected to grow exponentially within the next few years. Let us not only help you to move your business forward but at a faster pace!

Return on investment

Depending on the size and scale of the process that you are automating, it can take less than a year to begin seeing an ROI through labor and material savings. No matter how simple or complex the equipment is, every piece of automation brings with it an excellent ROI through labor savings, enhanced worker safety, and material use reductions.

Automating your packaging allows your employees to focus on more involved and fulfilling job opporunities.

Like all process improvements, you’ll need to take into account every aspect of automation such as package design, facility requirements, and transportation costs. Added bonus: many automation steps can also enhance the utilization of your warehouse space and inventory control. The total price for many automation projects can contain costs outside of the actual new equipment that is being considered. Some things to watch out for could be material handling systems, utilities, and other technology infrustructure that you would need to have upgraded to ensure the best overall efficiency and safety.

Employee Safety

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 2.8 people out of 100 get injured at work. Sprains, strains, and tares are the most common workplace injury.

Limit Material waste

Humans have the ability to use excessive amounts of packaging such as tape, stretch wrap, and shrink film while packaging your product.

g

Reduced labor costs

Employee wages have seen a large recent growth over the past year. This will lead to an increased pressure to automate repetitive tasks.

Employee engagement

After trending up in recent years, employee engagement has begun to fall starting in 2020 from 36% to 34% in 2021. This pattern has continued to fall into 2022 with 32% of employees engaged at work.

The Stats on Tape and Stretch Wrap

One automated case sealer needs one 1,500-yard roll of tape to close 3,176 boxes. One person requires at least 6,532 yards of tape to achieve the same result.

A stretch wrap machine can pre-stretch film by up to 300%, whereas one person can pre-stretch film by up to only about 10-15% by him/herself.

Overall, machines are far more cost-efficient and eco-friendly because they are capable of using far fewer materials, with the added benefit of being more efficient as well!
